Dispensary Review:
SPARCTop SF Dispensary
I visited SPARC for the first time the other day after a friend mentioned it had just opened in SOMA. If I'm not mistaken, it's the first new dispensary to open in SF in many years. SPARC is located on Mission between 8th and 9th street and has a colorful, modern facade. If you know the area, you know this block isn't the greatest, so SPARC is a welcome addition ... especially since they seem to post a staff member outside at all times. A great example of a dispensary being a positive influence on its neighborhood.
The inside of SPARC has a sleek, spacious, modern design with stained wood and concrete. Medicines are professionally displayed under a glass case and clearly labeled. One of the many things that sets SPARC apart from most other dispensaries is that they lab-test almost all of their medicines and display the THC, CBD and CBN values with the samples on display.
SPARC seems to stock about 20 different flowers at a time (Including CBD-rich strains) along with a nice selection of concentrates and edibles. There are many top shelf options and all of the prices are reasonable. The founders have been growing medical cannabis for years and most of the medicine they stock is self grown. As a bonus, they also offer clones of these medicines for patients to cultivate their own.
A seating area lines one wall of the dispensary with tables topped with Volcano Vaporizers where patients are allowed to medicate on-site (only vaporizing is allowed).
SPARC also plans to offer a wide array of other health services to its patients. This and a wealth of other information is available on their web site.
This place is on track to become a top dispensary in San Francisco and the entire state for that matter. I highly recommend checking out their facility and medicines.
Wonderfully Balanced Hybrid
J-27 has big crunchy buds that are caked in resin. It's hard to really classify the density of the buds as they really are crunchy, fluffy and dense all at the same time - a really beautiful flower. J-27 has a very strong spicy scent much like the many Jack varieties out there. I find those strains to be a bit racy and anxiety producing for my tastes, however, J-27 surprised me with a wonderfully balanced high that had all the benefits of a daytime sativa matched with enough indica to take the edge off the sativa in the flower and provide an underlying calming effect that didn't slow me down or make me tired. This is high quality medicine that is very strong. SPARC's sale price of $28 an eighth is unheard of - get it while you can!
