The Cleanest Jack in all the Land
Name: Jack Herer (Clean Green Certified)
Grade: A+
From: Harborside Health Center in San Jose. (Twitter and Facebook)
Cannabinoids: Not available at time of donation. Test results provided by Steep Hill Labs.
Type: (S/I) A spectacular blend of classic old school strains that leaves you with a marvelous Sativa high that’s as strong as can be without any unfavorable psychoactive effects.
Lineage: NL#5 x Haze x Skunk#1. This amazing three-way hybrid was created by the Sensi Seeds Company and named after the late great cannabis proponent Jack Herer, author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes., a book highlighting the need for legalization and benefits of the cannabis plant. The strains selected to breed the Jack Herer were chosen from a pool of classic strains known for their reputation for being a quality breeding strain and for having high potency.
Cost: $17/g ($18.40 with tax), $60/8th ($64.95 with tax)
Looks: Very foxtail shaped calyxes of deep green buds are what made up the gram I received. Upon breaking up a nug I could tell that this was a perfect cure job because while the nugs were slightly crisp, they were extremely sticky and just screamed “Fresh!” What I like most about Jack Herer is before you even medicate with this excellent Sativa it gives you an extra burst of energy with its stimulating amalgam of aromas and visually pleasing buds.
Scent: A very dynamic blend of sweet, fresh, and spicy perfume. What first stood out was a skunky-sweet smell that makes me think of a candy inspired by Pepé Le Pew. What’s next is a spicy ginger scent like freshly baked gingerbread men from Christmas time. I’d characterize the overall smell as much sweeter then it is funky, as skunky as the aroma is it maintains a very sugary sweet prominence.
Taste: A staple among these Clean Green Certifies meds is the pungent and crisp-clean essence of the strain’s smell and taste are amplified to the extreme with the cleanest growing methods possible. The taste of this batch of Jack Herer is an exact doppelganger of its smell: Candied skunk with a hint of fresh gingerbread. As always to maximize the flavor of the flower I smoked this flower out of my freshly cleaned glass on glass Hi-Si Hex beaker bong. The initial flavor of the savory smoke touching my touch had my mouth instantly watering. The effect the Jack Herer will have on your senses will literally have you drooling like The Beast from The Sandlot!
High: The Jack Herer family is notorious for having one of the most superior Sativa highs in today’s world of cannabis. The Clean Green Jack Herer at Harborside San Jose is no exception to this distinct characteristic. Upon smoking one small bowl of the Jack the buzz rushed instantly to the top of my skull and encased my entire head, creating a very active and focused buzz. As energetic as this powerful Sativa was I never experienced the sometimes unfavorable affects you find with a strong Sativa strain that is high in THC and low in all other cannabinoids. This is caused by THC being mainly psychoactive and has the potential to aggravate existing psychological disorders and stresses. What the other existing cannabinoids do is maintain a balance between the powerfully psychoactive THC, and other non-psychoactive cannabinoids that create a more enjoyable overall affect. The main attribute of this buzz was that it was very motivational mentally, and the underlying Indica affects improved my body’s tolerance for pain and discomfort.
Buzz Length: 2hrs+. After medicating with the Jack Herer I proceeded to complete some work on the computer and with a buddy of mine. I was concentrated and my pain was well managed off of a small amount of medication for about two hours and fifteen minutes. I was very cheerful and more inspired than usual to complete my writing and other online business thanks to the wonderfully uplifting effects of this Jack Herer.
Medicinal Applications: An amazing strain for managing and maintaining: ADD, Stress, Anxiety, Nausea, Appetite, Depression, Migraines, PTSD, and anxiety. While medicated it appeared as if this med was a total Sativa, my pain had gone un-noticed for hours due to the creepingly potent Indica effects of this excellent hybrid. While I tend to lean more towards Indica strains to manage pain and insomnia Jack Herer is one of my top choices when seeking out a well-balanced Sativa hybrid.
Overall: Another fine example of a extremely well grown Clean Green med, the staff at Harborside San Jose tell me that this specific batch of Jack Herer is grown by none other than the award winning Delta 559, who came to fame this past year by growing the strain Bogglegum that took 1st place in the High Times Medical Cannabis Indica Cup. What I appreciate the most in well grown cannabis is when the time and effort put forth from the grower is clearly present in the flower’s looks, smell, taste, potency, and collective quality as medical cannabis. When it comes to real medical grade cannabis it literally does not get any better than this.
A Blizzard of Trichomes
Name: The White
Grade: A-
Grade: Harborside Health Center in San Jose. (Twitter and Facebook)
Cannabinoids: 12.86% THC, 0.30% CBD. Test results provided by Steep Hill Labs.
Strain Type: (I/S)
Lineage: The origins of this strain are much disputed. There are several tales of how this amazing strain came to be: Some say it derives from the Chem Dawg family lineage, making it a relative of OG Kush as well. The next origin story claims that it is a strain that comes from the KC Brains Seed Co. by the name of KC White, which is a cross of White Widow, KC special select, KC 33, and Afghani-like plant. Another tale is that The White is a clone only strain created by a breeder named Krome, who some say claims that The White is actually a strain named Triangle (Not to be confused with Triangle Kush), which originates from Florida. Krome says “The White” is simply a nick name for the strain due to the massive amount of white trichomes that envelop the buds.
Cost: $17/g ($18.40 with tax), $60/8th ($64.95 with tax)
Looks: There appears to be some truth to this strain’s OG Kush origins by the looks of the nugs. With bulbous shapes, chubby calyxes burnt orange hairs and juicy looking nugs, this nug just screams OG. These buds look absolutely sugar coated in the white trichomes that give this strain its name. It is so covered in trichomes it appears that the trichs began to run out of room to grow on the beautiful light green flowers.
Scent: A mild Chem/OG like smell wafts off the whole buds, but the smell isn’t overpowering. Once ground up in my metal grinder the smell transformed into a powerful lemon orange citrusy scent that reminds me of freshly sliced fruit. The scent of the ground up bud is so radically different from the whole buds; showing just how dense the thicket of trichomes is that encases this bud.
Taste: Very light, sweet and earthy flavor that reminds me of a ’96 OG Kush. The smoke is very mild and won’t make you cough too much when you take those extra fat rips from the bong. But be careful, as mild as the smoke’s flavor is the high is anything but mild.
High: As with other Indica hybrids the high begins as a head rush, elevating my mood and eradicating my worries. The high then rapidly changed to a heavy couch lock similar to the effects of a GDP or White Rhino. The serenading arms of this impressive Indica dominant strain drew me deep into my couch and had me sedated and my pain alleviated. I was ready so sit back, relax, and enjoy a good movie or some relaxing music.
Buzz Length: As expected this strain’s buzz length is another one that goes the distance. Three hours into the high and I was still absolutely medicated, I was ready to toke one last bowl before bed, but even if I wasn’t able to I was still sufficiently medicated to get to sleep for the night. This batch of The White is an excellent example of a Indica strain with a low THC percentage that does not truly reflect the heavy Indica effect of the med.
Medicinal Applications: As Indica as it gets, this strain is an excellent sleep aid, pain, stress, and anxiety alleviator, appetite inducer, and mood enhancer. This strain is a much medicate at home type due to the heavy sedative effects. The White is a classic case of a “wind down” med that is better at the end of the day over a wake and bake.
Overall: While the lineage of The White may be a mystery, it’s top shelf quality and effects are no surprise as this strain is a classic Top Shelf med from Harborside in San Jose. My impressions of the strain is that it is a very well grown and crossed OG Indica dominant hybrid that starts off with a head rush before becoming almost completely Indica. This med certainly does not have a very social buzz, so don’t plan on being the life of the party while medicating with The White. The White is the perfect strain for recovering from a long night out on the town, or a long day at the office.

Dispensary:
Harborside Health Center - San JoseIt puts the Chem in Chem Dawg 4
This oil feels like a pure sativa when dabbed on the vapor skillet. It retains some of it's Chem flavor but not overwhelmingly so. A sudden rush of Chem Dawg 4's effect rushes straight to the head with a feeling of slight pressure just behind the eyes. The high is extremely uplifting, head in the clouds type of high. Not the best conditions to work in, but definitely a stress reliever and a relaxing agent. It's consistancy is a bit runny, but not the most fluid oil I've ever had. Perfectly capable of getting a nice dab for a concentrate vaporizer or to put on a bowl. For $25 a gram this sativa hash oil is a steal!
Sweet & Spicy Sativa
XJ-13 (S/I, 15.27% THC,.32% CBD). This G13 x Jack Herer cross is a perfect daytime med. Great pick me up before you start your day, excellent appetite inducer as well. The high is a thought provoking, uplifting, achievement inspiring buzz that'll help you focus and accomplish whatever it is you try to do after smoking this great herb! Buds are nice large nuggets, perfectly cured and smell of sweetness and spicy goodness! One of their top 3 sativas, but if they don't have the Tahoe OG or SFV OG this is your best bet for a top shelf sativa!

Harborside Health Center - San JoseAppropriately named super melt!
Picked up a gram the other day, took it home to my skillet and took one dab. It's a sweet waxy taste, really nice density and body and is prefect for vaporizing on a skillet, glass or Ti nail or any other kind of oil vaporizer. The high is a creeper buzz that takes a minute or two, but once it does you feel it right behind the eyes relieving any stress or anxiety you may be feeling. Not long after your body will follow suit and relax before you get a slight case of the munchies with the high lasting about two & a half to three hours. Very potent medicine in small doses, one of the best Super Melts I've had from HHCSJ in a while, maybe even the best. Do yourself a favor and grab some!
