Dispensary Review:

Dank Dash

Consistently expertly cured flowers and great service

I actually think the quality of flower here is better than other places such as Elemental Wellness. I'm really curious about their grower's curing technique. I find that many growers will opt for a fast cure (2 weeks) and then go ahead and sell them to dispensaries. While this provides yield and potency, the curing is really where it's at. I have found that the flower product from Dank Dash (formerly Amsterdam's Garden) to have been consistently expertly cured. A lot of people are unaware of just how much this affects the final product. I have found Dank Dash bud to be smooth and incredible. I hope they keep using the same growers because the quality is what keeps me re-ordering.

I'd also like to say they have great customer service. They once forgot an item in a delivery and quickly made it right. I'm very satisfied. Thanks!

True OG: Cut from a different cloth

I decided to try Elemental Wellness's True OG because of all the exciting publicity surrounding it's 5 time award winning strain. Since 2010, the True OG has racked up four awards in 2nd place at the high times cup and in 2013 has won 1st place cup in Seattle. Like a fine wine, this love child seems to be getting better with age.

Sight: "Looks Can Be Deceiving"

At first glance, nothing extraordinary sets this particular flower apart from more stunning flowers available at the dispensary. In fact, if you were to blindly pick flowers you might even suspect this one for a 2nd or 3rd tier quality strain. It's not particularly powdered, nor purple. It looks like any run of the mill flower. Do not be dissuaded. By looks alone, I thought I perhaps became unlucky and was buying either an old harvest or a flower that wasn't properly hoaxed into its fullest potential. Boy, was I wrong.

Smell: "Complex"

This one is a little bit harder to put your finger on. Without sounding like an inflated connoisseur. I can assure you it's very pleasant. It's quite evident this is a hybrid. Sweet, fruity, slightly piney. Very complex and commands observation. You'll do a double-take on smell.

Taste: "The Reveal"

This is where you start to immediately identify the quality of the flower. The smoke is very rich, complex, and smooth. The smoothness was definitely the trait that myself, as well as other patients I've spoke with agreed was one of the first strongest indicators of the quality. Larger volumes of hits that would generally make someone cough, didn't make anyone cough. If you have issues with coughing, this could be a more sensible flower solution. For those who can appreciate a good scotch or cigar, the complexity of the rich and bold smoke flavor is on par with those who can relate. You can really, actually taste it. And, it's good. Delicious even.

Effect: "Creating A New Standard For Flowers"

In my life time, I've had the opportunity to try many, many, many varietals and hybrids. It's generally understood that indicas are different from sativas, and high CBD is different from standard hybrids. But I don't think I've ever achieved a euphoria exactly like this. The effect is quite clear why this has won so many awards. It's as if someone has engineered a varietal with near perfect execution. The composition of this flower as well as handling and nurturing by the growers has concocted an elegant symphony of desired effects, coaxed into its fullest expression.

"Positive energy", "Euphoria", "Grace", "Clarity" these are some of the words I can use to describe the effect. It will not make you feel tired, it will not overwhelm you as to shove you tumbling down the rabbit hole of deep inception-worthy introspection. Zero paranoia, zero anxiety. Your cognition will remain realistic, engaged, and relevant. Like the asthma inhaler for your soul.

The Bottom Line:

True OG has proved it's worthiness. I consider it a new standard that sets the bar. It's going to be difficult going back to other premiums. If you haven't tried it yet, go for it. It's definitely cut from a different cloth.
