Early Morning Coughee

The earthy, coffee flavor profile in this flower leaves you with a saccharine taste on your tongue that might give you something like a chocolaty effect, though in my experience it was more like a caramel latte. One big beautiful bud (pictured above) was all that was needed for the 3.5g, so don't expect little popcorn buds at least if you're buying in the larger quantities.

High in THC this bud gave me a kind of a sharp peak on the high, though I mixed it with a little King Kong Kief to extend and mellow it a touch. On its own, this bud will give you a spike of energy similar to the coffee you'll taste in it, though it did once or twice cause my thoughts to just start running on me. Understand you're working with a strong sativa if you smoke this strain.

All around a great deal, will be buying this flower again!

A minty experience

I've been so glad that the cultivation centers in DC have been branching out into concentrates, and while I'll never turn down some wax or rosin in many ways I think kief is the best way to actually experience the taste of a flower.

Make no doubt about it, kief can have a distinct flavor experience from its flower counterpart. In the kief, the sweeter and more spicy flavors tend to come to the forefront as earthy, skunky flavors often fall behind. With this MediHaze the minty taste of the powder was almost sweet, like a stick a chewing gum.

Very potent too, but like the Sativa expression. Smoked this and wanted to get up and start running errands and all other kinds of spontaneous stuff.

One of the better kiefs on the menu, try it out!

Does an Indica's job

The other day my husband tells me, "the Republican debate is tonight, and we're watching it." Generally, sativas are my grind of choice. But exceptional times call for exceptional measures. I talked into Takoma Wellness Center and said, "Give me the most indica indica you got." Green Love Potion, at least by title, seemed a suitable remedy for what I was about to be put through.

They day after, I could clearly remember brief moment of righteous indignation- but more or less no clear recollection in regards to why I was mad or who at. About the only thing better it coulda done was knocked me out entirely, but it takes a bit of even an indica to do that to an experienced smoker.

One of my favorite strains

Enjoy this strain so much, I nabbed one of the Leafly strain stickers in the lobby at Takoma Wellness- it was just the perfect size for my Metro card! Appropriate, don't you think? This is the route I want to be one, a direct route to the space station.

For a hybrid I have often found Pineapple Express to lean more toward the sativa side, but that's how I would prefer it. Others may have differing experiences with their own body chemistry, but PEX will often give me a bolt of creative energy, or a sense of cabin fever that makes me want to stretch my legs.

Tangie Kief

Good to the last pollen

Blue Dream has long reached that point of ubiquity that one wished they could at least call it something new and not have to hear the same thing over and over. But all my friends that claim to have had so much Blue Dream they're smelling pine in their dreams have one new strain on their lips: Tangie. When smoking a Tangie properly balanced between THC and CBD it's not difficult to understand the surging popularity. It's a strong sativa (which seems to be more and more a popular preference) that demonstrates proportions of both THC and CBD. If the idea of the 'entourage effect' was always a little hazy to you, perhaps a bit of Tangie will clear the concept up.

The Tangie kief enables me to enjoy the benefits of the strain's CBD richness without having to abandon sampling of other flowers with a predominant expression of THC. One can have the benefits of the CBD with a more preferred flavor profile in an earthier herb, or perhaps paired with an indica flower to bring you some relaxation as well. On its own the saccharine flavors you'll find in the flower will be all the sweeter on your tongue in concentrated form.

No reservations giving this kief five stars. You probably just want to try some before I buy it all myself!

For your sweet tooth

I've been enjoying the pre-ground offerings at TWC lately. I understand that the flower is pre-ground because it didn't reach quite the visual impact your discerning user demands from a bud, but it all ends up going through my grinder in the end, anyhow. And as much as I love my little red TWC grinder, the actual grind it can accomplish is not near as fine as the one you get in TWC's pre-ground offerings. Although, the cheery pie seemed to be a degree less so than others the smoothness of the smoke was still there.

The scent of the cherry pie was a touch muted, but the sweetness when you smoke it is anything but. A puff of cherry pie and I wanna check to see my if my tongue is red from a cherry popsicle. It's rare that you find a strain where the flavor is quite so immediate, but at least for me this strain satisfied that distinction.

I did not get anything else with my cherry pie, and in hindsight I believe that is what I would have needed to make it perfect: a partner of some sort. Alone the smoke was mellow- almost too much so, and I found myself emptying the bag just a little faster than I might have wanted to. Nothing objectionable, really, but a short shelf life kept this bud from a fifth star. However, I don't know if a better strain could be found to mix with others- this has the potential to give a cherry kick to all those earthy, woody strains I've come to love.

Great bud, great price

There have been times the GDP has sold for $21 or more, if I'm not mistaken. And as much as the strain takes its name from the vivid purple hues it sometimes embodies, it's the heavy indica effect of the smoke that I've come to love. At $17/g, this "B" cut of Granddaddy Purple might be the best buy on the ever-increasing District menu. Arriving in about a half-dozen small buds, my gram of GDP seemed to pack the same earthy scent and berry flavor it ever had when the buds were plump as plums.

If you want to show off a beautifully cultivated bud to friends and family, just wait until you get to the dispensary and ask what's freshest. If you want a strain with a pleasant smoke and a reliably strong indica kick, you won't go wrong with the GDP Classic.

As a mix of kief from various strains it's difficult to pin down any real flavor profile, though a sweetness seems to predominate in the general sense. But really, if you see this grab this because there's no better way to throw some diesel in the turbo engines than with this stuff. I've put this on top of Pineapple Skunk, I've put it on top of a little trim when my supply was low... the only thing I didn't try was smoking it alone, though at $12 I'd take a quarter gram blast of of Magic Mix kief against any artisinal martini or aged scotch anyday.

Skunk is an understatement

The first thing that really struck me about the Pineapple Skunk was the fragrance as soon as I popped open the bag. Perhaps it is just my experiences with the stuff that I had my hands on in college, but to me nothing smells more naturally of cannabis than the skunky, heady tones you whiff from Pineapple Skunk. The earthiness of it was so strong it gave me immediate nostalgia for those times in college you had a stash so fresh and fragrant the whole dorm followed it to your door.

The punch promised by the scent may not be quite as strong, but for a hybrid I found the effects rather well balanced, similar to the Blue Dream if a touch more mellow. And despite the earthiness it wasn't impossible to detect a subtle citrus flavor that lingers on your tongue. This was the perfect bud for settling down to watch a movie without falling victim a spontaneous weednap.

A great smoke

I've long been a fan of the Blue Dream, and given its prevalence I would guess it has equal popularity among cultivation centers, but this offering by Abatin may outclass the rest. The choice to grind the flower was apparently made because the visual impact of the bud was not remarkable, but I actually rather prefer the smoke of the ground product, which is much finer than I'm able to accomplish with my standard stainless steel grinder at home.

The piney, citrusy scents of Blue Dream are unmistakable in this offering, but where it really shines is the potency. I found myself smoking half as much of Abatin's Blue Dream as I may have smokes of other cultivation centers', but the impact seemed just as pronounced if not more so. Sometimes, the high THC ratings on these strains can seem a little misleading. But this Blue Dream hits you every bit of that 23% it claims. And at $18/g, it represents a tremendous value.

Excellent product

I was more than excited to sample the first edible product released under the District's medical marijuana program, and District Growers' juices did not disappoint. I tried the passion flavor, and was surprised at just how unlike a THC-infused drink it tasted. I've had edibles before, and the shock of earthy, weedy taste in a brownie was always much more novel than it was pleasant. But this drink not only have none of that muddy aftertaste, it was downright sweet and refreshing. I've yet to try the other flavors, but Passion was so good I might not even try.

If you're looking to bowl yourself over you might be better off making your own space brownies. Each bottle contains the equivalent of about .2g of marijuana, and though ingesting THC means a more efficient absorption into your body, the amount is still subtle enough that for an experienced smoker like myself the effect was a touch muted. But if I wanted to be stoned, I'd just smoke. I drank my Passion before heading out to run a few errands over some hours, and all the while a grin seemed plastered across my face. And without being too lost in my own head to read my shopping list.

I would consider removing a star for cost, but again one has to understand the constraints DC cultivation centers and dispensaries operate within. The cost could drop by half by next month, who knows? It just doesn't seem totally fair to give a demerit to a fine offering, though it does bare at least some mention.

Old Reliable

A number of strains have come on and off the shelves at TWC since I became a patient but few have the consistency and quality of the Master Kush. While other strains (such as BerryO, for one) seem to fluctuate in terms of potency and the immediate visual impact of the buds themselves, Master Kush always seems to arrive in dense, heady buds. Holistic Remedies has really perfected this strain, and I might even go so far as to call it their signature offering.

The earthy taste of the MK is its calling card, and the burst of skunky fragrance after grinding the bud is almost as intoxicating as the smoke. Master Kush tends to expand heavily in the lungs, and has at times given me an outright coughing fit, but I've never had complaint with the effect. A heavy indica, I at least try to save my Master Kush for after the sun has gone down. But something this good, I often can't help myself enjoying a puff earlier in the day with a coffee or soda to balance me out.

If you like the couch lock effect and being able to watch hours of your time pass by easy, I would recommend the Master Kush. If you are a bit more adventurous in your experiences, I might look elsewhere as the sedative effect can be quite strong.

My workhorse strain

When I first arrived at Takoma Wellness Center they offered what was billed as "Blue Dream Classic," a hint of either a return to a bygone era or perhaps promise for a better time. I liked the Blue Dream Classic well enough, but the Boutique from Holistic Remedies that TWC has been selling really is a cut above what I first got to know as Blue Dream.

Blue Dream is one of those strains that is so ubiquitous the phenotypes of the strain itself vary dramatically, but this olive iteration of plum-tinged leaves and umber hairs has muscled itself into my daily medicine cabinet. It is remarkable- there are other strains I am undoubtedly more excited for, but the Blue Dream is such a reliable and pleasant smoke that I find myself coming home with it more often than not. When I got this beautiful bud from David today, I figured it was about time I shared my experiences.

The flower grinds fine, always giving up a hefty bit of kief in the process. I don't mind taking a slightly lower dose of THC in the ground flower as it already starts at such a higher ratio. The smoke is sweet but unremarkable. Some say they taste berries but I wouldn't put the taste anything past 'sweet,' but of course that's my palate compared to another who may be more the sommelier. If I would knock Blue Dream for anything, if would have one of the flavor profiles I do have more the taste for- a more citrusy or piney flavor. But this is picking nits, because the smoke is easy and smooth with minimal expansion in the lungs. Never a coughing fit with the Blue Dream.

The allure in Blue Dream is really in the stickiness of the high. While one might think that they would want a strain that gives them a more pronounced feeling of effect, the strength and duration often seem to be wholly separate factors when it comes to bud. This Blue Dream flower balances you nicely between the more creative effects of a sativa and the more sedative effects of an indica, and holds me there about an hour longer than most other strains seem to. I rarely become drowsy from a smoke of Blue Dream, neither am I liable to find myself buzzing with sudden fervor. The Blue Dream does exactly what I could ever ask from medical marijuana- it subdues my anxiety without having too many other outward side effects on my mind and body.

A strong indica is great, I love the Master Kush just before bed. And a strong sativa is lovely, the Sativa Afghani hits me like a pot of coffee, sometimes. But it's the Blue Dream that's become the true beast of burden in my stable of strains.

Enjoy this bud while you wish for a summer BBQ

When I popped open the bag of Critical Kush containing the bud pictured the fragrance of the flower burst from the pack as if it were so pungent it was bursting out of the package. Indeed, this flower offers a rather heady, piney aroma that hides notes of spice beneath the woody tones. So I was impressed before I even got a chance to inspect my flower, which coursed with veins of umber pistils through its lush green.

The bud itself arrived exceptionally fresh with the trichome frosting clear and clean to the naked eye. Before one says anything of the smoke, it must be mentioned this bud will drop a lot of kief into your grinder tray.

The Kush smoked smooth and easy, with a distinct taste of pine, which is perhaps at the heart of the four star rating. Between the smokey, woody flavors and the hints of spice in the scent, this bud would be absolutely perfect at a barbecue. If only the weather weren't so frigid. The distinctness of the pine flavor is perhaps not so notable as the pleasure in it, at least for me. Pine is a common artificial scent, never an artificial flavoring. But anybody that has burned pine in a fireplace or pit knows the subtle flavor from inhaling the smoky remains of the burnt wood. Smoking this piney bud reminds a person much more of the great outdoors and a campfire BBQ than, well, cleaning your kitchen floor.

The Kush gives a solid, immediate high with a definite lean toward the indica. It was difficult to overcome the pull of lethargy, but the battle was not quite as severe as with, say, the Master Kush or Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With a coffee (or blended with a sativa of my choice once or twice) the effect was far from overwhelming. I don't much prefer the stoney body high, but if you are an Indica smoker looking for that experience you may look into one of the aforementioned strands first. If you don't have another indica option, you won't be disappointed, though.

The Critical Kush isn't exemplary in any particular away aside from the fact that I seem to really enjoy the taste of pine. The flavor profile at TWC has tended more berry and skunk of late, so if you're looking to give your palate a change of pace, if nothing else, I would pick up a tasting of this scrumptious flower.

My special treat!

I was surprised to see that I hadn't yet left a review for this strain, as it has become the one I wait and hope for to return to the shelves. It may not be my absolute favorite of all, but the experience of GDP seems unique among the strains. The sweet taste of grape is unmistakable after just a huff of the flower buds. After smoking it, you feel you may as well have just finished some sugary, frozen berry pop pulled from the back of the freezer.

The plant is tinged with plum but the burnt red hairs dominate the supply at TWC, giving the bud a fiery tinge. The crystal coating on the bud is fine and uniform, the buds themselves are always exceptionally fresh (selling it as fast as it's harvested, maybe?). I've almost always gotten my gram in a solid bud. This is actually the remainders from two larger buds, as there is generally a gram-per-day limit on the strain. Even when the sample tray showed smaller buds, I asked kindly and the staff was happy to fish out a solid bud for me. I'm sure it would have done that for any strain, and the GDP would have been just as good in two smaller buds as one, but the extra effort in customer service ought to go noted somewhere. If I preferred the smaller buds I'm sure they'd have been happy to accommodate that, too!

If anything prevents the GDP from reaching the upper echelon of my truly loved strains it would be the limitation on its functionality as a medicine, as the heavy indica effects are generally only preferred later in the day. You don't get the creative stirring and buzz that I simply prefer from a robust sativa, but one knows that when one buys an indica. And if I felt it fair, I might also ding it for being one of the pricier (though by no means one of the most expensive) options at TWC. But this restriction on the bud's use adds at least a small degree to the sense of its peculiarity and charm. Like dessert after a meal, if I have a stash of GDP I will often look forward to it as the kicker for a long day. But just because I prefer a sativa, and smoke more during the day, doesn't mean I feel comfortable selling this bud short. There's a reason I'm always eager for it to come back onto the shelves! 4.5 stars if I could so halves, so we'll let the exceptional customer service round things up to 5.

Pick this up -NOW!!-

I picked up a couple grams of Blue Dream shake today, looking to have something a little less strong to bring my tolerance down a degree. Wow was I pleasantly surprised! This rating is for value, as you are still not quiet getting the kind of smoke you would get out of the Blue Dream flowers (which I would rate ~ 4.5 on its own) but the shake seems exceptionally laden with crystals, perhaps having collected at the bottom of whatever container TWC keeps it in. The flavor profile is not so pronounced as the flower, it seems, but the effect of the medicine seems just as strong if not more so.

Having tried the SAGE shake offering recently, as well, it seems that the Blue Dream is for one reason or another just a touch more faithful to the original flower. At least, in potency. There were a fair number of clipped edges of buds. Perhaps the cultivators were less careful in harvesting these buds? It's hard to know exactly, but the difference seemed clear once having sampled both products.

At $12 a gram, this was an excellent value. I really feel as if I should have just grabbed the eighth in hindsight. After going through the grinder it was close to indistinguishable from the Blue Dream flower I've come to love. I have bought the flower when it was $18/g, so I can tell you that if you like the smoke Blue Dream gives this shake is a no-brainer pickup at a dozen bucks while the flower is off the shelf. I suspect this comes from the supply TWC uses to make the pre-rolls featuring Blue Dream, so if you've enjoyed those here is a great chance to buy in bulk and roll your own!

A highly creative strain

Let me first say that while I don't understand where exactly the name 'BerryO' came from, or who coined it, I appreciate the decision to use the appellation over the strain's popular name, which to me seems like a tasteless reference to a horrific period in human history. It would be just as crude to refer to any other product or medicine you might consume via a reference to an unspeakable tragedy. Nobody sells Trail of Tears Eyedrops for your red eye, because wouldn't you feel scummy buying it?

The alternate may still be a bit of a misnomer, as if there are any berry notes to be detected in this bud my blunt palate could not detect their presence. The bud was certainly pungent, with an earthy smell almost like a black coffee, which certainly would have overwhelmed any delicate berry scents if they were there. The smoke was unremarkable and rather tasteless at first, but the high was immediate and pronounced. On a second smoke the sweeter flavors of the bud started to ruse up, so perhaps with some familiarity the complexity of the flavor profile may become more apparent. Still, it was the high that sold me on this strain. I felt the urge to sit down and write this review just moments after putting away the pipe!

TWC offers some strains extremely high in THC, so the relatively low count on this strain (15% for the particular batch that made its way into my bag in the form of three medium buds) is a bit misleading. The coffee-like stimulant effects of this strain are exceptionally pronounced. Although I have long preferred the Sativa Afghani and S.A.G.E. selections for their energizing effects, BerryO is without a doubt the most enlivening sativa experience I've found at the Takoma Wellness Center. The price of this bud had put me off trying it for the first couple weeks it was available, but now that I've given it a smoke this may just be my new 'top shelf' selection. However, if only because of the slightly prohibitive price, the S.A.G.E. will likely remain the workhorse in my medicine cabinet for daytime dosing.

Merry 'n Berry Trim

A good deal but get the right stuff

This is not a bad deal at all. Often if I'm trying a new strain I will also pick up a bag of trim to hedge against, in short, enjoying it a little too much a little too fast. Really, any other time I'm not totally sure if I'm getting exactly enough to last until the next time I'll be able to make it into Takoma Wellness Center. I simply keep it sealed up in its plastic baggie until it seems prudent to use it.

There is a kind of 'treasure chest' quality to it in that the quality seems to vary from bag to bag. I have gotten bags I would qualify as three stars, others that I would rate as virtually indistinguishable from the full price flowers after a trip through the grinder. But to a degree it's all in the luck of the draw, with most of them falling pretty consistently in with a milder version of its parent bud in a slightly harsher smoke. However, never have I felt the price unfair for anything I got. The trim has consistently done its job whenever called upon.

If I could offer one tip, it would be to simply settle on getting your favorite strain, if it's available. If the bag seems especially fresh and chock full of healthy little budlets, you'll feel you got something off the top shelf for a discount.

Glad I got my hands on this blend!

For years I've made my daily commute to and back from the Takoma Metro station, but since getting my medical marijuana card early in December my daily commute now often ends with a stop at Takoma Wellness Center. The single biggest surprise I have found in that short time has been the blended offerings sold in pre-rolled paper cones. I haven't tried them all, but that's the thing- the mixes created are so alluring and so plentiful and so fine it'd make your wallet scream to try every one that looked good! These blends seem to stay in stock for a couple days at a time, and there have been a few times where I've been intrigued by an offering only to see it disappear as quickly as it had arrived.

If you can only get a half gram, I would wager it much better to spring a little more for a quality bud spiked with some robust kief. It may give sticker shock at first blush, but it's certainly cheaper for a guy like me to buy a sample of a tested blend than to buy the individual components and experiment. I'm no expert, but if their pre-roll products are any indication the staff at TWC are.

I often smoke the Blue Dream buds, and have indulged in the Magnificent Intentions hash, but had only used the two separately. When I saw this offering of one of my staple buds spiced with the Magnificent Intentions kief I had to snap it up just then. Don't know if it'll be there the next day!

The familiar taste of Blue Dream refreshed my taste buds and the subtle high eased my anxiety. But where the sensation usually settles in I found the power of the kief sinking me that much deeper into a relaxed state. Certainly not a daytime experience, but it was just what the doctor ordered for a Friday evening at the end of the Holiday season. Maybe the experts at TWC concocted this potent Indica experience just to help get the New Year underway!

A sensory experience

When considering only the bud's ability to tingle your nose and delight your palate, this bud may be the gold standard. A lemony fragrance wafted from the healthy bud the kind people at Takoma Wellness Center picked out for me, a scent that only exploded as I ground the bud up to the fine consistency I prefer.

This bud made a nice, thick smoke that expanded in lungs. The skunky undertones make themselves most noticeable as you inhale, the kind of musky taste souring your tongue for a moment until you exhale. The aftertaste is a refreshing citrus, however, and it seems to stick around for quite a bit of time.

The head buzz hits you hard and fast, and tapers away gradually over about an hour and a half. An exceptionally strong high if a little short. A robust indica, this medicine sent me right off to bed (as I like an indica to do later at night). But if I'm buying this bud again, it will be more so for the taste than for the psychoactive effects. The price is a little high, but for a good experience it's worth the money.

Dispensary Review:

Takoma Wellness Center

The best dispensary in Washington DC

When it all comes down to it, bud is just bud. The selection at Takoma Wellness Center is just as good as you'll find at any of the other two dispensaries in DC, but neither of the other two could compete with the patient-first experience offered at TWC.

From the first time I visited TWC to complete my MMJ application, Stephanie, Paula and Joshua have treated me and the rest of their patients like family. When you come to TWC you feel as if the red carpet is being rolled out for you by some of the kindest people you could ask to run a dispensary. Their knowledge of the product has enabled me to learn more, myself about what I'm actually putting into my body and the effect it is having on me. They care about the product they provide because they understand how the proper use of it can provide tremendous relief to their patients.

DC's program only allows you to choose one dispensary, so you need to pick the right one, and TWC is it. It is even ADA accessible and right by the Takoma metro. More than any other dispensary in DC, TWC has made an effort to not only make their patients feel like family but to provide an example of a MMJ service that a community can be proud of.

A blend for your sweet tooth

Usually I prefer to dose with a spoon over papers for a variety of reasons, perhaps the first of which being that I've never quite figured the trick for rolling a quality paper. However, some of the blends Takoma Wellness Center offers have convinced me to reconsider my aversion.

The Granddaddy Purple came off the shelves, but a day later this offering of a half-gram blend of the Granddaddy Purple with the medical staple Blue Dream arrived and enticed me to give papers another try. Off the bat, the roll itself impressed me. The blends comes packaged in what I believe to be a RAW paper cone. The grind on the leaf is very fine, which makes for a much smoother smoke than I can get with my homemade grinder.

The promise of a sweet, berry experience pulled me to this combination of GDP and Blue Dream, and I was not disappointed. I am not a smoker of the most refined palate, but the taste of GDP's grape was unmistakable, even dominant in this mix. The smoothness of the smoke of all the products from TWC continues to impress me as well. Without the throat discomfort it's easier to enjoy more quality bud!

The GDP is coming back in shortly, but even when it does give this refreshing berry blend a try.

I usually reserve indicas for later in the evening, getting a few chores done while I wind down for the night. While I like a sativa during the day, too late at night and my mind will race while I'm trying to sleep. I didn't get any of that with this Master Kush. It was a smooth, almost refreshing smoke and slowly relaxed me until I ended up turning in early. For an insomniac, that doesn't tend to happen, often!

Great daytime medicine

It was explained to me that S.A.G.E. comes from the same plants as the pricier Sativa Afghani, it being the parent strain (along with Jack Herer). As the Sativa Afghani is my preferred medicine, I decided to give the S.A.G.E. a try. The gram I got was smaller buds and a little shake, but after a trip through the grinder the product was indistinguishable from (admittedly impressive) flower buds offered as "Sativa Afghani."

The flavor profile of the S.A.G.E. is very similar to the Sativa Afghani although the buzz is a degree less strong. I have been using this medicine in conjunction with the SA, favoring it during the day and switching toward the stronger SA when my daily tasks are completed or if some trigger causes my anxiety to begin to peak.

Takoma Wellness Center just received a couple of robust indicas in Granddaddy Purple and Master Kush, and while I enjoyed them I need the clear-headedness S.A.G.E. allows. The smoke is easily as smooth as with the pricier offering. I would recommend this strain to any daytime smoker or anybody who likes the "Sativa Afghani" offering but would like to save a couple bucks.

A good mix of indica/sativa

This stuff was quite good. The smoke was not quite as smooth as some others, but certainly wasn't rough on my throat. I used this strain with a little Lemon Skunk hash and found the combination to feature a clear-headed exuberance with a mellow body-high. Doesn't bowl you ever, settles you into a calm relaxation. Found myself a little overwhelmed once or twice by the sedative effect of the indica without the hash to tilt the balance more the other way. But all things considered a great value at $15/g. Will most definitely be getting this strain again.

Few strains have been better for my anxiety

This was part of my first purchase from the Takoma Wellness Center, and after years of relying on the supply of whatever The Guy had, and never totally trusting that whatever strain was whatever claimed, I was more than excited to meet the experts at TWC. They suggested this strain to help with my anxiety without leaving me feeling foggy-headed during the day. It really does the trick! Some 'stronger' strains have a tendency to exacerbate the sense of anxiety, but this had the effect of clearing my mind.

As a bonus, this was perhaps the smoothest smoke I had had in ages! The bud broke up nicely in my fingers into the bowl and burned easily, without overheating my throat. I tend to be prone to coughing fits, but felt almost no irritation on my lungs whatsoever with this strain. If for that reason alone I will probably make this my preferred medicine. If I could offer six stars to this wonderful strain, I would!

Peppermint Indica Tincture

Great in coffee and tea

The only sincere drawback to this tincture is that my high metabolism seems to put a short shelf-life on the effect, though I was warned of that possibility by the staff at TWC. I was hopeful for this tincture that it would be able to replace smoking and help my lungs, but in the end the effect isn't quite potent or long-lasting enough. I find that the tincture is most successful in relieving my sense of anxiety without giving me the usual loopiness effect of THC, but that is not immediate in setting in and doesn't last as long, either. It also has a slight sedative effect. Still, I enjoyed this tincture for a change of pace, especially at night as a replacement for melatonin supplements. With a cup of tea this eases me right off to sleep.

Lemon Skunk Hash

Gives everything an extra little kick

I got this as part of my first purchase from the Takoma Wellness Center, I would have to say that it was certainly the highlight. Combining this with the Sativa Afghani provided an exceptionally clear and energetic high. Combined with an indica, it combated the tendency to deflate onto the couch. I even crumbled some up on top of a bit of trim to give it a suitable kick.

The hash is packed into one gram compact discs but broken in half to be sold by the half gram. The price point is a little higher than I would usually spend on medicine, but I treated myself thanks to TWC's offer of $50 of free product on your first visit. Will undoubtedly be finding room in my budget again for some of this hash.
