The Humboldt Cooperative

Humboldt's first

the co-op has been here since the late 90's and was the only choice for a long time. The space is not much bigger than a closet and only allows 2 patients in at a time. This can get tricky when its raining. They have flowers and some edibles. The medicine is real hit and miss. Lately being more of a miss. I used to love their Purple Nepal, and it is the only club in Humboldt I've received true UK Cheese from. Most recently they now require a membership buy-in that is like 50 or 60 bucks annually, which would be okay if you recevied an annual allotment of medicine, but that is not the case.

Hummingbird Healing Center

Humboldt's Best

This dispensary is truly compassionate and will meet the needs of all patients. They consistently have the largest selection of flowers, extracts, edibles, and various other medicinal herbs that I have ever seen this far north of the Bay Area. The prices are reasonable and the staff is very knowledgable. This is the only place you can find topical medicine, full melt bubble, and edibles that will put you to sleep if you over-indulge. It should be noted you have to register at a different location prior to getting medicine so make sure to allow time. Forever Hummingbird.

Best choice for clones

This place grows all their own medicine for its patients. Therefor, they have cuttings of almost everything. If they don't currently have something in stock they can usually let you know when to expect it. They just recently stepped it up a notch with some legit OG cuttings like the lemon Larry and the SFV. They have an okay selection of edibles and their trim usually has popcorn buds and in huge demand for patients on a budget. Don't make the mistake of going in the morning because there is usually a huge line for said trim seekers.

uplifting sativa

I'm not a huge fan of Trainwreck or its many crosses, but Pineapple Trainwreck is one I always go back to for an uplifting daytime medicine. Unlike most Sativas this strain lacks the speediness of others that herald this strength. The aroma of this strain is pure fruit that carries into the pineapple flavor that lingers on your tongue. It imparts a mellow headspace that is great for anxiety and stress. This strain would work well for headaches and depression. It doesn't have the greatest bag appeal, but as a long time proponent I would recommend this above all other Trainwreck crosses.

Arcata iCenter

one stop arcata shop

When I make it up to Arcata, this is really the only place I frequent. They always have one or two truly top shelf strains, namely Headband and sometimes OG Kush. The prices are consistent and they don't charge an extra dollar for 1/16's if you're looking for variety. Just make sure to ask to check things out first and you will find something you like. The extracts aren't great, there aren't many clones available, and there are no edibles, but as far as honest;y good medicine this is the spot.

must try med

This is a great sativa with a quick onset and soaring high that lets down slow with a very dreamy (almost lethargic) finish. The crystal coverage is immense and the calyxes break up bountifully. Great flavor in the realm of OG and Diesel. The lung expansion is felt immediately and the high begins to race up the spine into the back of the head. This is a great daytime medicine to alternate with heavy indicas for pain, because it will still provide that physical relief without the couchlock. I medicate for asthma and this is one of my favorite strains for its quick onset and long lasting effect.

If they have it in stock it is a must try medicine!
