For those about to rock...but can't cuz of the pain=ACDC

District Cannabis has been promising some fresh CBD flower and they did not disappoint! As soon as I heard it was out in the stores, I contacted NHHC. They weren't quite ready--they had just gotten some in--but you know how they do at NHHC! Christal let me know that if I could wait a few minutes, they would hook it up. I am so glad I did! This strain has a nice, pungent smell that is an almost piney aroma with a deep purple and green color. The taste is pleasant, not too overwhelming. I had been searching for a pure CBD flower for months now and this did the trick for the muscle and nerve pain in my neck and back. Can't wait to try the other two strains DC put out!

Hey! So happy the District Cannabis' ACDC x Harle-Tsu CBD strain met your approval. We love our patients and will try to accommodate them when we can. Thanks for your kind words.

Bruce Banner BX 2.0

Bruce Banner is my Jam

Bruce and I started our love affair in the Fall of 2018, but every time I see him it's like the first time all over again. Seriously. I love this strain because it always hits me the exact same way every time: right to the dome! I love the purple/black colors in this harvest and the sweet taste is unmatched. This is my go-to for an afternoon with friends.

Disposable Goji OG

Goji OG on the GO

I was skeptical at first...the vape pen scene in DC still has some room for improvement...but was pleasantly surprised! Easy to pull, great taste (NO BUTANE TASTE WHATSOEVER), and fun energy! I can't wait to try the other disposables. If they made them .5g I would give them FIVE STARS LOL. But really, if you are new to vape pens or just don't want the hassle of having a battery, these disposable vape pens are for you!

No, YOU'RE the Lotus Head!

Y'all. This indica has got some jokes! I enjoyed this with a friend and the giggles were definitely there...mostly because we were just being silly and stoned. A wonderful, medium-level indica that keeps you awake but definitely floating...like there's a lotus...in your head...#lotushead

Sunflowers: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, and Black

Pocket Full of Terps

Got Terps? The Sunflower strains by Abatin do! NHHC had these for $25 for 3.6g as part of a Furlough Sale, so I had to take advantage of a great deal! Instead of cooky strain names, the Abatin peeps decided to focus on terpenes and use colors to differentiate them. Here are my thoughts on the different strains/terps:

Sunflower Gold (Limonene): Got that sunshine in my pocket, got that good soul in my feet! Hello, happiness! This strain gave me a burst of energy just in time for the sun to break through all the wintery grey. This is a great daytime strain that left me smiling from ear to ear.

Sunflower Red (Terpenoline): The aromas from the Red are nothing but lit. This terp is often found in fun hybrids and it does just fine standing on its own! Body relaxation and some heavy eyelids FTW. Mix it with other strains for a great way to add a yummy-tasting kick!

Sunflower Green: (Ocimene) Now, they claim this is a decongestant...all I know is that I've got energy for dayyyyyys now. Am I breathing better? Who knows!? All I know is that this terp screams sativa to my nose (thanks Interpening Training!)--a sweet combination of earth and citrus. I loved the upbeat feel of this strain. Pro-Tip: Mix some Red and Green together for an upbeat hybrid!

Sunflower Blue (CBD): I've read so much about CBD and was excited to try this strain out on my menstrual cramps. WOWZA. I couldn't believe the immediate relief I felt! Goodbye Motrin, Hello Blue!

Sunflower Purple (Myrcene): A little goes a long way! Purple alone will put me to sleep and stay there! But when I mix a small amount with other strains, it's like kicking everything up a notch! Great body high and insomnia relief. Versatile terp!

Sunflower Black (Caryophyllene): Get ready to have some fun! Just like Purple, if I medicate too much with Black I am stuck in the couch. But adding this to other strains or mixing it in a pre-roll is a great way to get that body high! I'll be sure to keep some Black in my Cannabis Box at all times.

Thanks for the wonderful review! We love the Sunflower line! It is wonderful to be able to "get to know" some of these terpenes on a one on one basis. It makes it easier to recognize them in other strains and can help you to better identify the benefits.

Genius Pipe

The Genius doesn’t mess around.

I’m halfway through my first bowl on The Genius and have managed to take five hits so far. I’m closing it back up immediately after so it doesn’t smolder. There’s probably still about half a bowl left, so it def helps keep the fire out and you don’t lose medicine. What an awesome feature!!!

It cools it to room temperature so super smooth, but not “cold” or “cool”. Really like the ability to pack, slide it shut, and use it later. The design is sleek—almost looks like a remote or some other electronic gadget. Very portable.

Taste is pretty nice (like a clean glass bowl). Takes out approx 95% resin and tar, so a healthier smoke.

All in all, I give it two thumbs up and a high five. Def recommend.

Pincher's Creek

Great Daytime Medication

I discovered Pincher's Creek during the Father's Day sale in 2016. I lean towards denser nuggets and pincher's felt fluffier than what I was used to. I was skeptical. BUT. I was not disappointed and it has become one of my favorites to get the day going or for a pick-me-up after work when I'm trying to battle the afternoon naps.

The best part of waking up, is Goji OG in my cup/bowl!

This is my favorite bud of all time. It is dense, it is covered in trichomes, it tastes phenomenal, and the effects are long-lasting. This is most definitely a sativa, so if you aren't used to this type of buzz you might not know what to expect. There is no couch-lock, there is a small boost of appetite but not enough to get you munching on random things in massive amounts. I enjoy this to get my day going. It really helps combat my depression symptoms, which manifest in lack of energy and over-sleeping. Goji OG gives me the energy I need to get the day started--just like a cup of coffee or a shot of espresso. It is a very clear-headed high so you remain functional throughout the day. If you are looking to get fuzzy-headed, couch-lock, or just "stoned"--this is not for you. This bud is for the sativa-savvy who enjoy/need the energy boost this plant can give. Get ready to get things done with a nice smile on your face thanks to the body high. Can't say enough about this magical bud!

Girl Scout Cookies

The Original Girl Scout

I discovered this strain out in Boulder, CO and was THRILLED to see it at National Holistic! This is a dense bud that depending on the nug, can contain all sorts of colors--green, orange, and purple. I enjoy this buzz whenever I'm at a social event. It helps bring down my anxiety and allows me to have great conversations with people--it doesn't make you feel like the weird stoner in the corner of the bar. Overall, this is a fun buzz with some fuzziness. I recommend this for a fun afternoon out with friends! Get ready for some giggles!

Orange Sunshine

If you steal my sunshine...

We might have some problems! Orange sunshine tastes just like the name--citrus and happiness. This is a great afternoon buzz after work when you are ready to enjoy time with friends and family. Definitely a hybrid, but leans towards sativa energy. Tastes SO GOOD. Did I just bite into an orange? Nope. Just took a bong hit.

Ed Rosenthal's Superbud

Clear-headed, energy-inducing buzz

This is not the typical nug-style bud that I enjoy, but I had been waiting for this strain every since a friend recommended it for energy and clarity. She was not wrong. The first hit felt like a nice shot of espresso, but the taste was ten times better. The exhale reminded me of cinnamon apple pie. It is a fluffy bud with a lot of orange hair, so I would recommend smoking it from a bowl or pipe rather than a joint--make it last longer. You will want to break this up over a pollen box not to catch the sugary crystals so much as the light, orange hair.

New and Quickly Becoming the BEST

Due to a mix up at DOH, I was assigned to another dispensary by accident. I almost stayed there, but decided to go here because it had the best hours--plus it was the one I had originally wanted. WOW--so glad I went with my original choice and came to NHHC!!! I chose National Holistic Healing Center because they keep the widest selection of strains grown by all the cultivation centers in the district. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. They know their products, they have the scientific and botany information to back it up, and there's always something new to choose from. I learn something new every time I go! The menu is ever changing and diverse, so it keeps up with seasonal varieties. I look forward to the emails--they provide information on other holistic remedies like reiki. Plus they have online ordering--do you know how awesome it is to pick out your anxiety meds while on a conference call? It's pretty epic. And there's no other dispensary that is open 7 days a week. It is convenient to Dupont Circle Metro, but I also have not had problems with parking. The location is discrete and safe--two really important things in my book. Did I mention the prices? They are the best in town--hands down.
