Denver Kush Club

Pleasantly Surprised

I wasn't sure what to think of Denver Kush Club at first. I was interested in trying an MMC in the Five Points neighborhood to see how they compare to MMCs elsewhere. The storefront was not difficult to find, with a very clear, colorful sign that really stands out from the surrounding businesses. The waiting area was very nice and open with a large couch and flat screen set-up that is instantly welcoming. The bud counter is located in the back and is very large and open. They have two counters with a large selection of medicine, including a fantastic selection of TGA Genetics. The budtenders were very knowledgeable and willing to let you take your time browsing the selection (something I always appreciate when visiting a new MMC for the first time). I ended up getting a few great looking strains for a truly excellent price.

Overall, if you ever find yourself downtown in the five points neighborhood, you should definitely give these guys a try. Their prices are really amazing considering the high-quality of their medicine. They may not be for everyone, but honestly, everyone working there are so awesome and polite, and to top it off they absolutely know their stuff. They also really seem to have a true passion for helping their patients.

Great Example

Flo has become a pretty common strain in Colorado MMCs, which means it's easy to compare one MMC's version to another. This cut from Denver Kush Club is easily the nicest looking I've seen. Very few cuts I've seen at other MMCs have the telltale purple hues mixed in like DKC's version. This is a great, legit example of the Flo, as good as you'll find anywhere else.

Awesome Hybrid

Blue Diesel is a perfect example of a hybrid that combines both side of it's genetics. The Indica-leaning Blueberry side gives you a very relaxing feeling while the Sativa-dominant Sour Diesel side keeps your head uplifted and clear. I really enjoy this strain and was excited when I saw DKC had some in stock, as I had recently run out.

The Cannasseur

Next-Level Medicine, Great Vibe

The Cannasseur, located in the Highland neighborhood, is a great example of how to run an MMC right. Matt the owner really knows his stuff, and the staff are always super polite and knowledgeable. The strain selection is among the most unique in the Denver area. Boasting numerous proprietary strains that you can't find anywhere else. The medicine is easily among the best in the entire State of Colorado, and really reflects the care and knowledge that only comes from years of experience.

There are multiple MMCs in the general area of the Cannasseur (Tennyson St), however, the Cannasseur stands out in all right ways. Great medicine, awesome owner and staff, and a general vibe that a lot of competing MMCs would do well to try and imitate. I would highly recommend paying these guys a visit and checking it out for yourself.

Lemonade

This strain could easily be called lemonade instead of Kizzle. The smell that comes from a freshly opened jar stings the nostrils with a very distinct lemon-tart scent. The taste is really powerful as well, very sour and very tasty. The effects are uplifting and mood enhancing, definitely a strain that can be enjoyed at any time of day for a quick pick-me up and erasing tension and muscle soreness very effectively.

If you haven't tried the Kizzle, you don't know what you are missing!

Kurple Fantastic

This strain is an in-house rarity that you come across every once in a blue moon. Most house strains I've come across have been mediocre and lack any sort of unique quality.

Kurple Fantasy #1 is one of the most unique and interesting strains I've come across since I received my red card. The fact that it's unique to The Cannasseur really piqued my interest. The smell reminds me of a cross between original Kush and Sour Diesel. This strain is VERY potent, combining the best effects from the powerful Indica genetics, while balancing out with a great Sativa half as well.

I can't say enough nice things about this strain, it's done right and really satisfies the need for unique and interesting genetics that will surprise even the seasoned patient.

Tasty Strain

This was a very interesting strain. It burned clean and had a great taste that reminded my of cherries. It had an uplifting, clear-headed effect, typical of strain with tropical sativa genetics. A great choice for easing muscle soreness, or increasing appetite.

Lotus Medical - Denver

Check it Out

I really dig the vibe of Lotus Medical. They have such a cool location, and the decor is very tasteful, warm, and inviting. Their medicine selection is outstanding, I always find new and hard to find strains here. The staff is always very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to help you find exactly what you are looking for. Lotus really sets the bar for downtown locations.

Excellent Hybrid

This is a perfect example of a hybrid that manages to incorporate both the indica and sativa effects, without either one overwhelming the other. Often times when you cross a heavy indica—in this case blueberry— with a strong sativa—Big Buddha Cheese, one of the crosses may end up overpower the other. This Blue Cheese cut has an excellent, well-balanced, relaxing body sensation, without the head fog normally associated with indicas, while also incorporating a very uplifting aspects of the sativa.

The taste is something that is very difficult to describe. A combination of fruity and musky, almost woody flavors. It's very unique and is immediately recognizable.

This is a great example of this strain, very well done.

The Releaf Center

Very Nice

The Releaf Center was one of the first dispensaries I visited upon receiving my state-issued red card. The first room you enter is very tastefully decorated with hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling mirrors on the wall opposite the check-in window.

After being buzzed through to the waiting room, the design aesthetic continues to impress with tasteful furniture and warm inviting art and accents.

The medicine counter is very impressive, with a wide variety of flowers, extracts, and edibles.
The budtenders are always friendly and more than happy to allow you to examine multiple strains without ever feeling rushed to make a decision.

Overall the Releaf center is one of the best dispensaries or "centers" as they are called now, in the Highland neighborhood. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to fellow patients, as their medicine seems to only be getting better with each subsequent visit.
