The Dandelion

It's Beyond Me How Places Like This Stay In Business

I decided to go to The Dandelion after they ran an ad in the Boulder Weekly proclaiming they had a huge fall harvest of Sweet Tooth. I had not seen any Sweet Tooth since I had been blown away by an 8th of it I had gotten over the summer. It was dark when I headed to The Dandelion and I walked right by it before finally finding it (it looks more like a house than a business). The girl at the front desk was nice and she actually conversed with me while I waited rather than just glancing at my papers and telling me to wait. The budtender that was working was also very friendly and willing to help. I began picking up some jars and examining the meds... things were not looking good from the jump. I asked the guy where the Sweet Tooth was since I wasn't seeing it, he informed me it was still curing and wouldn't be done until a few days later. I was really looking forward to this places buds since they have a bunch of (what I'm now sure they wrote) stellar reviews on Google but actually (one of the few times I have done this) left without buying anything. I thought about going in again or calling on the day I was told the Sweet Tooth would be done but I kind of figured if they couldn't grow any of the probably 15 strains I saw correctly then the Sweet Tooth would be no different.

Among The Worst

I decided to check this place out after an employee at The Green Room (my favorite dispensary) told me they grew with the same nutrients. I thought this would ensure their bud would be awesome... since TGR's definitely is. The building itself is nice and the guy at the front counter was friendly. After a short wait I was escorted to the back by a guy who introduced himself as the owner. I was in the mood for a nice relaxing indica but this guy had other plans... there was a jar of buds sitting on the counter and as soon as I approached the counter the guy told me word for word "This is what you want to smoke". I asked him more about this strain he told me it was a pure sativa and had tested around 30% active cannabanoids (yeah I'm sure). I told him I wanted an indica and rather than just showing me some indicas he continued to try to push that same strain on me. Finally once it became apparent I wanted an indica he showed me a few jars all of which looked pretty unappealing. Also, the menu they had in the waiting area listed dozens of strains which they did not actually have. I had a coupon for a buy 1 get 1 gram so I selected the best looking indica and ended up taking a gram of the stuff off the counter too... I had to experience 30% active cannabanoids for myself! The buds he gave me were not trimmed very well, there were more stems than buds, they were harsh, crackled in the bowl and tasted like garbage. I was glad I had gotten a buy 1 get 1 since I suffered through maybe 3/4 a gram then put the rest in the trash... where it should have gone put to begin with.

Christmas Came Early This Year

TGR still has the same dank buds, awesome staff, great location and awesome building as before. There is only one difference now from when I had written my last review... they finally did away with the shady member pricing they used to have. This NOW truly is the best dispensary in Boulder... big thanks to BERTHA88 for bringing my grievances to TGR's staff's attention.

The Green Room

Best Dispensary in Boulder to Visit (Key Word "Visit")

After getting my card I made it my personal goal to check out as many dispensaries as I possibly could to make the most informed decision when I chose my care giver. The Green Room was the first place I considered making my care giver and after doing a little bit more research I selected The Green Room as my care giver. The bud here is second to none, the employees are the nicest in all of Boulder, their location is very close to my house and their building itself is awesome! I have never gotten a strain here that was bad. I have gotten a strain or two that were not to my liking but they were still grown and cured perfectly. I actually met their grower one day while I was there she was laid back as well as helpful and when I suggested growing some Bruce Banner she actually listened and asked which place specifically had the Bruce that I liked. I doubt they will get it but who knows... and either way it was cool to see the person who actually grows all my meds. Anyways, you're probably wondering "Why is this a 4 star review if you have all these awesome things to say"? The reason I gave them a 4 star rating is a combination of their prices (which I knew were high but obviously was okay with) and their shady member pricing. The latter of the two being what really annoys me because I feel like it is very misleading. On their website it says "Members receive 20% off of all medicine" on the bottom of the page it states "20% off does not apply to sale items or specials". I read all of this beforehand and it was reiterated to me by their employees when I did the paperwork to make them my care givers. After shopping a few different times and always buying multiple things I came in one day to just buy an 8th and was shocked when my total was almost $48. I asked if he knew I was a member (because it was someone I had never seen before) he said he did and then explained that the member discount only applies to grams. In other words, they discount their gram price ($15) by 20% then multiply this by whatever you decide to get in order to determine your price. This is because they apparently consider their price of $50/ 8th to fall in the category of "sale items or specials". That's a discount of less than $3 off of what paying $15/ gram would cost for an 8th. I hardly shop here now because I do not like paying this much and unless something changes I will be switching my care giver once the 120 days is up. I love The Green Room but I can't stand paying more as a member there than I can pay at other places everyday with no discount.

It Tastes Like Waffles & Syrup What Else Do You Need To Know?

I always felt that purple buds were something of a gimmick. Something I had heard about as a thing of almost legend in my younger days but after growing up and getting my hands on some of the elusive purple strains I had to admit I found them all rather disappointing. There were some great strains that were partially purple, but the ones that were the most purple always seemed to disappoint. That was until I tried this phenomenal strain from The Green Room! The description of this medicine on here mentions something along the lines of it having a "waffles and syrup flavor" which intrigued me enough to at least give it a shot. It is really crunchy and you tend to go through jars of this much faster than other meds. Other than that though I have nothing but good things to say about this strain - the nugs are trimmed perfectly, they smell and taste just as promised, the smoke itself is as smooth as air and the high is extremely relaxing/sleep inducing.

Low Prices... Dank Bud... What More Could You Want?

First checked out CDS online and saw something that made my mouth water - dank buds at ridiculously low prices. I quickly calmed myself down because so many places will take a picture of the best nug out of an entire harvest then you go in and see bud that looks totally different. When I went in I saw a sign that said they "could not currently take debit or credit cards because of problems with banks...". The girl had already greeted me and at first I started to leave but then asked if I could shop then go get cash for whatever I decided to get. I figured this would be a great way to not have to buy anything if their buds were a bust also. They had a wide range of medicines with at least four or five strains catching my eye. Also they have a 5% "Neighbor Discount"; which pretty much means if your i.d. has a Boulder address you save a little extra on top of their already low prices. I went got my cash and came back to grab my bud. My budtender also gave me a free half gram of their Chem Dawg #4 because I had mentioned getting a bad batch from another place and being turned off from the strain as a result. My total for an 8th with tax and everything was just over $30 and again, I'm not even a member. I also got an 8th from their lowest tier, which I would normally never do. But as my budtender explained to me they price their bud according to the time it takes to flower, how much time it takes to trim, cost to grow and so on. This means you can get some quality medicines for less than $10/ gram. This place really is awesome, it truly has the best mix of low prices and quality nugs out of any place I have been to in Boulder so far. Just remember to bring some cash, they take checks also or I suppose you could call because they said they were working to fix the issues with banks so they may be taking cards again soon.

A Delightful Diesel

The nugs of this medicine are somewhat leafy but that is to be expected with any Diesel. It's kind of like unwrapping a present when it’s a Diesel that’s grown right. Slowly pulling back the leaves to reveal dank buds covered in delicious crystals and fresh stinky resin glands. In the picture they have of this strain on here the hairs appear to be a bright orange color, however, on the nugs I got they were a fabulous dark red color (which is great). The buds were sticky and pulled apart nicely, the leaves were less plentiful than they had originally looked also. The buds smoked great and a little bit loaded in the bong made for a hearty rip due to how sticky it was. At first you feel this medicine in your head as it calms you and melts your stress away. Shortly after smoking I felt the body high come on which was far from debilitating and was more of a nice all over tingling than the "couch lock" some indicas give you. The initial high did not last incredibly long (maybe 1 1/2 hrs) but I felt a nice all over warmness throughout my body for close to 3 hours.

Get That Grow Room Going

This place is kind of hard to find, if you ever go here it is around the back of the building. The inside of the building was nice, definitely much roomier than it looked from the parking lot. Their bud room was very clean and inviting. It was a Sunday and things were pretty slow, there was only one guy working but he was very friendly. He was in the process of rolling what looked to be his millionth joint of the day when I came in so he was probably excited to see a customer. Their selection of buds wasn't the most extensive but they did have some very tasty looking strains. My budtender also explained to me that at the time they were in the process of moving their grow room and did not have the same amount of meds they usually do as a result. This was about a month ago so I would be curious to go back and see if this is still the case. I selected an 8th and the guy invited me to pick my own nugs - which is always awesome. They also had this really cool set of tongs that looked like rooster claws for grabbing the nugs which was nice since I have a hard time using the chop sticks most other dispensaries have. Plus, they're tongs that look like rooster's claws! He weighed my 8th at almost 4 grams then let me pick a free half gram of any strain I wanted and threw in a joint for good measures I suppose. If and hopefully when this place gets it's grow room working at full capacity it'll definitely be a five-star dispensary.

Pretty Well Done... It's really a 4.5 star bud.

The reason I went here was to check out their Bruce. It looked and smelled just like Bruce Banner but while it had some crystals it didn't have as many as other Bruces I have seen. Also, it was not very sticky. It still smoked great, tasted awesome, pulled apart nicely rather than crumbling which to me is indicative of a Bruce Banner that has been grown and cured properly. This is one of, if not my favorite strain out there and Lotus grows it better than some places but not as good as 1 or 2 other places. The other places did not offer it for $35/8th which is what makes going to Lotus worth it.

Almost There...

This place is right down the street from my house, I walked by it a bunch of times and thought it looked like it was closed or something. One day I decided to investigate further and looked online, turns out they were in fact open. They now have a light up "OPEN" sign on the window so I guess at least they figured that out. The place itself was small but nice, I went in around 6 on a Saturday and was the only person there. The dude working was amongst the friendliest and sincerely most helpful people I have run across at a dispensary. They did not have the largest selection of buds but what they did have looked pretty good. I picked three different strains to try and the guy began packing them into 3 Zip-Loc bags with no labels or anything. I had some errands to run and did not want to have to go all over town with random looking bags of dank with just the name of the strain written in marker on it in my pocket. I guess I wasn't sure how cool a cop would be with it is what I am saying. So, he ended up putting them in one bag which mixed all the different nugs together. There 8ths here are something like $35 everyday for non-member so the price is right. Like I mentioned earlier the bud is pretty good but nothing too special. Bottom line... this place is worth checking out but if you are going to go here grab a few empty med jars before heading out.

Best Strain At The Green Room (Which Says A Lot)

This was the first time I tried this strain and had just about fallen in love with it before I even tried it. The guy gave me a hearty nug that was just less than my 8th and a few smaller nugs to even it out. The nug that he gave me is indicative of what you find at TGR in all of their jars, which is a huge plus considering many places have half their jars packed half full of stuff that looked like it was swept off the floor after they trimmed. This medicine smoked great, was very smooth and the high was pleasant as well as long lasting. I enjoyed it throughout the day and the evening but I wouldn’t recommend this one if you have a lot that you need to get done. I mean if you are going for a walk or something like that it's great... but don't plan on smoking this and cleaning your house.

Come Here If You Prefer Quanity Over Quality

I saw this places prices and was intrigued but skeptical that any place could have such low prices for anything worth smoking. They have a convenient location that I walked to from my house which is always a plus. When I came in I was greeted by a girl who was friendly, it was shortly after 6 so they had the pre-close rush and she called another guy out of the back to come help me. He came up and presented me with the heftiest amount of paperwork I have seen at any dispensary. That really doesn't bother me though - I would jump through flaming hoops to get some good bud. The bud room here is pretty small compared to how large the place is as a whole and me and the 2 other people back there were packed in pretty much shoulder to shoulder. The 2 girls working actually said openly that most of their bud wasn't that great and directed me towards the 3 or 4 strains that in their opinions were actually good. Even among these strains the girls did not agree completely that they were all good, this really says a lot about their product I guess. I ended up getting a few different strains at some if not the lowest everyday non-member price in Boulder but was pretty apprehensive about whether or not I would enjoy them. Their medicine is not grown organically and although they are not the only place that doesn't grow organically they are definitely a place you can tell doesn't grow organically. The bud wasn't really that bad... it just wasn't that good either... the prices are 2nd to none so I suppose if you are an 18 year old looking to get a bag you can roll blunts with before a Kottonmouth Kings concert this is your place.

Great Décor... Now Work On the Grow Room

I went here because I had a coupon and was in the mood to check out a new place. When I went in I was greeted and escorted to the back and sat on a couch to wait for the 2 people that were ahead of me. There was only 1 girl doing literally everything so when people kept showing up she was getting very overwhelmed. The building itself is very nice as other reviews have explained using much more eloquent language. When I finally got back to the bud room my heart immediately sank. There were a lot of jars that all seemed to have about a quarter left that looked exactly what you'd expect the last quad out of a huge jar to look like. On the counter they had a few jars that were actually stocked, when I looked at the bud I quickly saw why. They smelled wet and I am no expert at growing but there seemed to be some major problems in either the growing or curing process. I knew they had Bruce Banner #3 which is a personal favorite of mine so although they did not have a lot of it I figured this would be a great way to gauge the quality of the bud they had when they were more stocked. It did not look or smell like any Bruce Banner I have ever seen and honestly in my opinion calling that stuff Bruce gives Bruce Banner everywhere a bad name. I actually ended up leaving without buying anything and this is the only place I have ever done that.

Head To High Grade

There isn't a lot to be said about this place that hasn't already been said. They have a very friendly, helpful staff, lots of parking, and one of the most varied selection of great medicine in Boulder. Their bud room is very nice and they also just put in a third counter. I have never been there when it is busy enough for them to justify having all 3 open but it is nice that they have that option because most places help 1 maybe 2 people at a time. But let's face it, no one really cares about how many flat-screens, fancy couches or things like that a place has - it's about the bud and this place definitely delivers. They have an almost overwhelmingly varied list of strains that are all fantastic. I really don't think there was one that looked bad to be honest, which is more than I can say about a lot of other places. If you want to go here do it on either a Tuesday or a Thursday because they have great deals on like 5 or 6 strains on each of these days (something like $40/ 8th before tax for non-members). Bottom line, go check this place out if you haven't already.

Best Bruce In Boulder

I have had this strain from a lot of places, over time it has really become a personal favorite of mine and it really exemplifies the quality of medicines you find at HGA. I wish I still had some so I could attach a picture but the nugs are amazing. They are covered in crystals, beautiful dark red hairs and will smell your whole house up with an odor that can only be described as heavenly. The smoke is smooth and tastes the way the buds smell which is always awesome.

Very Well Run But The Buds Are Hit and Miss

CPM was very helpful when I first got my card. They set me up with a doc, helped with the paper work and were the only place that let me shop with the paperwork you get before your card comes in the mail. If it were not for this I wouldn't have even given this place the 2 stars I did. On more than one occasion their top shelf medicine was full of seeds. One time when it happened I had bought a half and couldn't even stand to smoke it. When I mentioned this on my next visit my budtender acted surprised bc apparently they are supposed to tell people the strain they're buying has seeds. To make up for the $140 half I couldn't stand to smoke she gave me a free half gram. It seems like the problem with this place is they are constanly growing new strains and never seem to have the same strains for very long. So in other words, rather than growing 10 or 12 strains well (like most places do) they try growing all kinds of different medicines and always seem to do it kind of half-assed. I did get some Bruce Banner 3 and some Chem Haze from here that were really good (then when I went back they said they had already run out and stopped growing these) but I got a myriad of strains (White Light, Blueberry, Raspberry Cough and the seed ridden top self Super Lemon Haze just to name a few) that were absolutly egregious. If for some reason you have to go here (like I did while I was waiting for my card to arrive) make sure you ask ahead of time if the strain you're buying has seeds.

Can I Pick My Own Buds?

I went to The Farm about 3 different times when I had first gotten my card. They have a convenient location, inviting building and free parking. The waiting room in The Farm is very nice although in my experience there is never much of a wait here. The bud room was also nice and the employees were friendly. However, they were not very helpful when it came to choosing my bud. I said I was looking for a sativa and the girl directed me towards their sativas but did not offer much assistance beyond that. I selected a few different strains and asked if I could pick out my own nugs. I was then informed that all of their medicine is pre-weighed and pre-packed. I think it's bad enough when places show you a jar with a sample then grab your bud out of a different jar but to me this is even worse. In total so far I have probably bought 5 or 6 jars of medicine from The Farm and half had very nice healthy nugs and the other half not so much. I guess it is just a major personal preference that I have always had - I like picking my own buds. or at least having some sort say in the buds I end up with.

LTS,
We hear you. We're always considering a move to bulk weighing, but it's soooo messy- the medicine dries out from the opening/closing of the jars all day, people always want to touch which isn't sanitary (I've seen guys shoving buds up in their noses at dispensaries!), it's time consuming -we'd rather spend time talking with you about BUD than trying to rush you through. But, there is that wonderful apothecary feeling to bulk weighing. We know, we love Rebeccas! We may bring it on sometime in the future, but for now we hope that the fact that we only pack the best buds in our pre-weighed packages will keep you coming in. We have even separated the little nugs out of all of our pre -weighs and give super great deals on "Bong Snaps"--and boy do they fly! No paying for wood! Come in and ask for a manager and we'll take care of you for the medicine you weren't happy with. Best Regards, The Farm Management

Alpha Blue My Mind

Prior to receiving my card I kept seeing the ads for this that The Farm puts in the Boulder Weekly and looked forward to trying it. I picked up an 8th of this on a few different occasions and it never dissapointed. It really is one of the most uplifting buds I have ever smoked and was great for relieving pain as well as anxiety. The nugs themselves were cured perfectly, smelled fruity and had beautiful crystals. It also smoked just as good as it looked and you can easily pull huge bong hits of this with relative ease and little to no coughing. I have had Blue Dream before and it left just a little something to be desired, this is definitely not the case with Alpha Blue. If you have not tried this medicine yet do yourself a favor and go grab some.

LTS,
Thanks for the Alpha Blue review. It is the most creative, clear, migraine relieving, mellow, happy bud that we've ever experienced. I think I'll go pull a big one myself!
Best to you:)
