The Art of mixing

The Art of mixing
After spending almost two years learning about the different flowers buds (mostly Sativa) that Metro.Wellness usually carries, I have taken the next step towards mixing. As a creative artist I am a mixer (can mix just about anything) but it never occurred to me to mix my buds since I had ‘finally’ understood what bud was best for each occasion.
It was Jean Paul and Norelco at Metro.Wellness Center who introduced me to the idea. I now realize that mixing has been around since the beginning for smoking and that a new frontier has opened up for my investigation and enjoyment.
Rather than trying to describe each quality of the herb, I will just mention the main difference when mixing the two. (I presume one can mix three or more…and thus the Art of mixing.)
It was either Jean Paul or Norelco that told me, “Green Crack cranks it up but has no personality. Mixing it with Sugar in My Bowl will give it a fuller character; more euphoric, people orientated vibe.” And they were correct.
Acapulco Gold is an example of an herb that may not need to be mixed.
I have had a positive outcome when mixing Green Love Potion with Pineapple (60 to 40%). I maintain the mellow benefits of the Green hybrid that I feel has a sensual character and gain the added ‘stony’ affects of Pineapple.

Pineapple, Green Love Potion and Harlox #4

Pineapple, Green Love Potion, Harlox #4
For several years I have only been smoking Sativa. I have limited experience with Indica and hybrids and I find the effects surprisingly different. Obviously, I prefer sativa and it helps me get through 4 to 5 hours of sax practice/playing.
Pineapple was, for me, 2 or 3 times more powerful than Green Love and Harlox; a half filled bowl (3 or more tokes) and I had to lie down in bed for an hour. Physically, I was too weak to work. Mentally, my mind was racing and I had less control when I tried to meditate. Emotionally, I did not feel ‘up’ and was more concerned how long it would be before I could move around. I have tried Pineapple a dozen times (but only a toke or two) and I find the emotional effects to be introspective and did open a few doors for new insights.
I like Green Love more than Harlox; perhaps, in part, because of the name. Green Love is not as strong as Harlox. Green Love has a more emotionally uplifting character than the more physical relaxing Harlox.

These two are similar; both are good but O.G. is better. I found the O.G. to be more energetic (mentally and physically) and have more pronounced (noticeable) attributes. Kunda

Light of Jah - AK47 - Green Crack

Light of Jah - AK47 - Green Crack
When I asked the assistant at Metropolitan Wellness Center (with her lovely smile and perfect teeth) to describe Light of Jah she said, “It’s the classic sativa”.
I perceived that she was also implying 'classic' in a Jah/reggae fashion. Which means, to me: mellow smoke, 80% mental (with hints of creativity and laughter) and 20% body; relaxed yet focus without any hints of heaviness.
AK47 would be next in line. A little stronger with 80% mental (but without the laughter) – 20% body; but there is a heavy feeling so the combination seemed to make me want to play videos/paint then to go outside or play saxophone.
Green Crack is the strongest at 95% mental. With only 5% body the initial energy/high made me want to play saxophone, but only the fast funky songs; ballads was not an option. My favorite is Green Crack. Nevertheless, when deciding what smoke would be best to write this review, I choose Light of Jah.

Pineapple Express

Picher's Creek - Pineapple Express - Chem Dang

These three are very similar. Picher’s Creek is a little more body sensation (more relaxed, maybe a touch of mental haziness) then the other two. While, Chem Dang may not feel as potent as the other two, it has the least body sensations which, for me, translate into more mental activity/clarity. The order of potency is listed in the title.
