Denver Kush Club

Denver Kush Club

A big part of choosing the right dispensary is finding the atmosphere where you feel comfortable. Do you want a whole wellness center? Is price the most important thing? Everybody has different priorities, and finding the right one for you is the most important thing.

Many of the establishments out there really go out of their way to add a few frills.... modern furniture, massage, free coffee, etc... others out there just provide a clean and friendly place to purchase medicine. Denver Kush Club is more like this. When you first arrive, they check your paperwork, enter you into their computer, and then you take care of business.

Located in the area of Denver called 5 Points, Denver Kush Club caters to an urban crowd. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and very personable. You can chat with them about your needs, or even about the (constantly in flux) state of the union. The lobby area is more of a hangout. There is a big-screen TV usually showing sports, copies of various Colorado industry mags on the coffee table, and posters of upcoming musical events.

After I took care of my paperwork, we got down to business. I was escorted back to the pharmacy area, and was shown about 25 or so different strains to choose from. I made my choice, a hybrid called Chem Dog, and the bud tender placed my medicine in a green plastic medicine bottle, paid him, and was on my way.

Denver Kush Club definitely caters to a younger, more urban clientele. It's more like visiting a friend's place and hanging out rather than going to the doctor. The staff is laid back, but professional enough to trust that everything is on the up and up. If you want your dispensary experience to feel like you're visiting a doctors office, I would look elsewhere, but if you're looking for good medicine and a good price, with a friendly staff, then you're in for a treat.

Chem Dog

Chem Dog is a precursor to the ever popular Sour Diesel strain. It's an excelled choice if you want to relax during the day, but not be incapacitated.
The flowers are fluffy, and medium green in color. The taste is full and sour, the smoke is very thick, and can make you cough if you ingest too much at one time. I smoked it through a 6"" glass hammer. I would only suggest a water pipe if your lungs are solid. The high is heady, but in an energizing way, this is not a go-to-sleep medicine. If you have tasks to do that you often wait until you have a good medicine, this is the perfect one.

The Clinic on Jewell

Experiencing the Clinic

I was driving around southeast Denver, and decided to pay a visit to the Clinic, located at 1479 South Holly Street. They are active within Denver's music community, and are often sponsoring or promoting local shows, so I decided to check out their dispensary.

When I entered, I was promptly greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable bud-tender. I was given the necessary paperwork to fill out, and noticed it was very detailed. The waiting room is modern and comfortable, with a couple recent industry magazines, and a large screen TV, showing an environmental video, on the wall.

After I completed my paperwork, I received a tour of the office. It wasn't fancy. yet it was clean. There was a massage room, with a table and some other empty space. They give free massages on Tuesdays, and it looked like there was also room for more tables. I was shown into the medicine room. Everything on display was divided into 3 separate categories: indicas, sativas, and hybrids. I have had plenty of good sativas, so I chose an indica strain called Grape God, on recommendation from the bud-tender. She told me it won the Highlands Cannabis Cup, several months back. I purchased a gram, which was packaged in a standard small ziplock bag. There wasn't a place to medicate on premises, so I paid for my medicine, and thanked them for the visit as I left.

The clinic is a clean and professional establishment. There aren't a lot of bells and whistles, but for the patient who is primarily looking for a good medicine, then I would recommend The Clinic.

Grape God

While I generally prefer sativas, I decided to add an indica to my arsenal. On recommendation from the pharmacist, I purchased a gram of this strong, award winning medicine. They advised me to use it at night, and that is precisely what I did. The taste is sweet, and a bit minty, the smoke is full and thick, and the high is very heavy. This is not a smoke in the morning type of medicine, unless you want to spend the morning on the couch. It's a good sedative, and I had a full and satisfying night's sleep afterwards.
