Venice Medical Center

Friendly Vibe

Venice Medical Center has a real friendly vibe. The security and budtenders all seem like good people that are happy to be working there. They have a ton of concentrates, so if that's your thing, this is definitely the place to check out. VMC has a big selection of flowers although they're usually heavy and indicas and I'm sometimes wishing they had a bigger sativa selection. For sativas, I do love their headband, which always has killer flavor and is sometimes priced at under $50/eighth. Also, I think you can buy single dabs to medicate in the store. I usually can find parking on the street. Beware, the lot next door is not owned by Venice Medical Center and I've heard of peeps getting towed.

Good Variety, Convenient Location

Let's start with the positives: La Brea Compassionate Caregivers is in a very convenient location with relatively easy parking ... except 4-6 pm when you can't park on La Brea. I think they're also open really late (2am?). LBCC's flower selection has a lot of variety with a few options at 3-4 price points, which makes is accessible to most everyone. I'm a top shelf guy and I can always find something I'm pretty happy with there.

As for the negatives: the front office seems a little mismanaged. The first few times I went to La Brea Compassionate Caregivers, they couldn't figure out if I had been there before. That seems to have since smoothed that out. And sometimes I've had to wait for a receptionist when I arrive to a short staff. I also think their medicine is a bit overpriced. I'm willing to pay it for the convenience of their location, but a $55 eighth should be a 9-10/10 in quality IMO and sometimes I'm getting more like 7-8 at that price point. Also, everything is pre-weighed which I never like because I think you often get a mix of shake and nugs whereas the places that weigh out your medicine in front of you will give you all nugs (there are exceptions to this rule, but not this place).

Overall, I keep LBCC in my stable of dispensary options because of the convenient location and consistent quality. While I've found few 10/10 meds here and think the pricing is about 20% higher than it should be, the other factors keep me a pretty regular customer. If you're in the area, check out LBCC.

Love that sour flavor

The Sour Diesel at La Brea Compassionate Caregivers seems to be pretty consistently good. It's never grown to perfection and usually leaves me wishing the buds were more dense, but the flavor and high makes up for that shortcoming, IMO. It's so hard to find a perfect Sour D in LA - this is a good stand by when I can't locate the super dank.
