I purchased 1g of Phantom OG here after mistaking the pricing on the Jar. I asked for an 8th but thought it was going to be $25. After realizing this was going to be $55 I settled for the 1g, and wish I had purchased the whole 8th. This has been one of my favorite overall strains, I think because I only had 1g.
A lighter green and a bit frosty with a good amt of crytals. well cured. Fairly dense with a few small leaves that were quite frosty.
A good smoke that was expansive and tasty. Very fresh and sweet flavor.

This nice purp afgani cross was a quality find for a reasonable price. A pleasant smell that was fresh and clean, a good deep green with a moderate amount of crystal and orangey hairs.
I found this to be very well cared for and gave a quality buzz after smoking. Smoked well didn't have to light it too much. Smoke was a bit expansive.
The one thing i had trouble with at this shop was there are so many prices on the jars I coudn't keep track of which price went to which amt I was looking for. I bought an 8th of this for $45 and was happy with the overall quality, not the best but for the price it worth it. would get this again.

This strain was one of my favorites I have smoked here in California.
A very nice green, super sticky, great smell.
I liked this so much that i have purchased it twice. I haven't bought another strain more than one time, but this was so good I had to get more.
Smoked out of pipe first and thought wow this is so good. Then I broke out the small bong, cleaned it, put in some fresh water and packed it up. WOW! this tasted so good.
This is very strong and expansive smoke. Filled up the bong thick.
I got stuck on the couch for a while after.
If you see this strain get it, don't look elsewhere just get this one.

I got just a gram of this and wish I had gotten more. a very beautiful green and crystally flower w/ nice little hairs.
A dense appearance and strong smell are right in line with this strain, making it one of my favorites.
1g is never enough of something you like.
An expanding smoke with a great flavor and good high. I found myself going back to this again and again, but then I found I didn't have any more. The taste was good and made me feel better.

This strain looked much better than it tasted.
Frosty and green, seemed a bit dry, crumbly, very fragile.
IT was dense and had a good smell.
Gave a good smoke but didn't have the best taste. For the price it should have been better. This is actually the least favorite strain I got from this store.
I don't know what kind of conditions this strain will help combat, but it did help calm me down and keep me sedate. Always a plus.
Sometimes looks can be deceiving and this is one of those times. This definitely looked like some dank nugs but didn't have the taste and smoke of soem of the other strains from here.

I went to medx after reading reviews from another site and seeing that they had a great strain selection and a sliding price scale for all budgets. I went in hoping to get an 8th for cheap to see what their lower priced strains were all about.
The place is small right on 16th street off the 10. There are a couple parking spots in front of the store. I was greeted nicely and verified quickly. A specials menu was in the waiting room and I got a heads up before I entered.
After being verified, I enter the back thru 2 large steel doors that slam if you don't close them yourself. Arriving in the back I was greeted by the budtender and offered a handshake. I was then given a short tour of the area, beginning with the concentrates section. Concentrates are sold in .2/.5/1g sizes from $5-35. They had a great selection of concentrates too. Hash and Kief in diff strains.
The next display case had three shelves with low to high grade strains from bottom to top. Another display had some glassware and further on is the cooler with drinks and other medibles inside.
I looked at a few different strains in the $30-35 range. The tender opened up a few different canisters and the smell that came from them was all kind of the same. A strong smell that was not the smell of dank nugs. The buds in this range were golden and green. Nothing special. As the price increases here so does the quality of the buds. Top shelf stuff was top shelf material.
In the end I got 3.5g of Orange kush, has a dark forest green and bright orange hairs, looks nice. Weighed out when you choose. Not pre-weighed. I have smoked this and find it to be a good mid-grade strain, with a mediocre taste. Gives a good buzz but not overpowering. All in all worth it for the price.
There is a patient reward system. Save 8 receipts and get a gift when you bring them in. They total your donations and then give you a percentage off your order, depending on how much you spent over the 8 visits. First time patients get pre-roll house blend. this is less than impressive. It is a regular 1.25 paper with a filter that takes up about 1/3 of the area. the rest is loosely packed and squished flat. Haven't smoked so don't know about taste.
Overall a pleasant experience and my wallet doesn't hurt. I was disappointed to see a large stem in my jar. I would return here if i am in the area, or if I go to the Hydroponics shop next door. Next time i go i will definitely get a top shelf item and not be cheap. But I am out to try different strains in different price ranges all over. Can't just talk about top shelf all the time.
I did check out the Downtown Hydroponics shop a couple doors down, and Max helped me to get an understanding on where to begin with a light and grow set up. So check that place out too.

This strain is Orange Kush. Has a foresty green color with orange hairs. Dense, a little dry and stemmy.
When you crack open the canister the smell of mid grade strain hits you right away. I was a bit surprised when I opened it up to find that a stem that ran through the bigger bud in the batch. Seems like it could have been broken off and saved the weight. My receipt says 3.6, but it's more like 3.2 bud and .3 stem weight. This i don't like. Most other shops I have been to remove stems like this one.
I got home, cleaned the small bong I use and filled it up. I picked a small piece and didn't really break it up. I lit it and it didn't seem to want to light well. The smoke was light, not so thick. I had to keep re-lighting it. Exhaling left a taste I did not enjoy.
It's been about and hour and fifteen mins and I still have a buzz, but I am awfully hungry and a little headache coming on. Maybe I just need some more water. I can never seem to get enough.
I believe this is an outdoor strain, but not sure.
Overall this is definitely a get what you pay for strain.

MCA is a good place to get started in LA. There is a Doctor upstairs that you can get your reccomendation and then down to this shop around the back of the building.
Quick verification after going to the Doctor and I was in. There is a waiting area in the front to wait for verification. They have coffee and water available. I've heard they even serve breakfast in the mornings. I was there in the afternoon so I did not see.
Ushered into the back through a cavernous room to the bud room. A large white dry erase board had quite a list of strains in all price ranges.
There was another patient in there while I was there. I spoke with the budtender who seemed knowledgeable but also preoccupied with the other patient.

The strains ranged in price I didn't take note of the prices here, but seemed good.
I got: 8th of Snow Kush and 8th of Skywalker OG for $100. I liked the choices I made.

Snow kush was light and crystally. Gave a good smoke, really expansive.
Skywalker was also very good.

I noticed that some of the other strains which were said to be grown outdoors looked brown and not so good, but the selection was enough that you could find good meds at good prices.

First time patients receive a pre-roll. This was not good. It was in a cigarette style paper, complete w/ full size filter. It was only about 3/4 full and the product inside did not taste good.

Overall pricing is good here, people were friendly, with wide selection. I visited here because of the Doctor and have found other good places closer to me, but would go here again if I was in the area and needed something.

This is 1 of 2 strains I got at the first Dispensary I went to.

The Skywalker was listed on the board behind the counter as top shelf strain. I thought the price was good for this. I think 55 is a cap at this place on 8ths.
This flower was dark green with orange hairs. Had an earthy tone to the smoke. I thought is smoked fast. It seemed cured properly but still seemed to smoke out fast.

After a couple bowls of this I sat back and was part of the couch for about an hour completely medicated and happy for the first time in California.
I've found that a lot of people really enjoy the Skywalker strain but for me this was not my favorite. I like the smoke and the high but overall thought the taste and quick burning of it to be a draw back.

I liked this a lot. It was very white and frosty looking like something named snow kush should be. The smoke was expanding and thick. It burned very slow and long, got me well medicated.
I got an 8th of this for 45. I thought it is a good price.
At the same shop I got an 8th of Skywalker for 55 and I liked the snow kush more. Had a crisp fresh flavor that the skywalker did not.
The shop had a a variety of flavors and some were not so good. but after examining all the other strains I was very happy to have this.
