Around my last birthday which coincided nicely with a payday, I stopped into Ballard CCC. I was impressed with the great staff. I was told that the cool looking guy who opened the door is Brandon, the art director from a popular freezine around the Puget Sound called DOPE mag (Defending Our Patient Everywhere). The friendliest budtender went over their specials and deals before asking what I was treating.

They have a lot of choices, but I was in for one thing at the time, the Super Silver Haze. I came out with an oz of great medicine and a DOPE t-shirt and keef box. I am very happy with my experience here and I later caught up with them both at the magazine's 2012 Cannabis Cup Judging and Awards. I will need to stop in more often.

I minced up some of this sweet smelling flower in my dual layer grinder in the hopes of keeping some of those crystals. Has anyone ever had a sativa that is dense as this? Normally, they are much more spindly, but this guy is glowing brighter than General Kota's lightsaber. It's longer than my hand and was missing its top! Remember padawans, always break the bud off from the bottom and work your way up. Actually, the budtender had to grab the right amount because there were a couple more he already weighed. We could have sparred each other but we both resisted the temptation. As many other Jedi masters do, I constructed my own from non-flavored 100% hemp paper and a bumper of cardstock for a tip, smoked it, then wrote up this nice review by only using my control over the Force.

I got a sneak peak of a strain that won DOPE Magazine's 2012 Cannabis Cup winner for Highest CBD. It was rated by four different testing facilities then averaged for the score. This bud is very very dense and purplish but covered in sparkly crystals. I'd say this is a very indica dominant strain from those characteristics alone, but it doesn't really stop there.

One of my conditions is acute nausea and gastro issues, which is why the budtender recommended it. The CBDs go directly to the body and my organs really start to gurgle and I feel them unwind a bit. I can start to eat again and that's probably good because I'm immediately hungry and thirsty.

Anyways, I brought in some canned food along with a completed patient card for a free quarter the day or two before the Cannabis Cup judging. I chose the Raskal's for my freebie and I was glad I listened. I usually have to combine this medicine with a sativa just to balance it out if I've got some chores to do. The body buzz lasts quite awhile. I still feel some discomfort, but... I'm not really caring about it anymore.

*I was told this grower actually spent the $ to buy a bunch of plants or seeds. Then after growing and harvesting them in the exact same manner, likely using all that other magic, each potential mother was tested for medicinal value. The best one was selected and cloned for concentration in CBD, so I was told that it is more like a substrain because all the other plants didn't have this "mutation" of 8.28% CBD (!!!) concentration levels. There's some debate on whether higher CBD levels will give you that "high" feeling. However, those CBDs help to metabolize the THC longer, so you get a longer effect. This stuff, in my opinion, is fweaking gweat medicine!

Next day edit: I still felt the medication upon waking up in the morning. This is VERY potent and may just have made it into my nighttime dosage rotation. I woke up non-queasy for once albeit with dragon-mouth and thirsty as hell!

Everyone at SMMA is great and the medicine works. The waiting room is quite comfortable and attention to quality is top-notch. They have a business license hanging on the wall and they happily declare they're paying Seattle sales tax (*egads*). I can imagine their donation rates will continue to be reasonable as long the State doesn't levy heavier burdens, but their dedication to patients will always stay the same. The owner likes to engage and get to know patients. The group is involved in getting patients connected to researchers at local hospitals, for example. I'm happy to report that they have adequate parking and the exit opens up to the handicap marked spots outside. There's a sign that says "KEEP OFF THE GRASS" cleverly displayed through the window.

Aurora CCC was recently awarded People's Choice award in DOPE Magazine's 2012 Cannabis Cup for Blueberry Cheesecake. I have noticed consistent quality and dedication to care that keeps me coming back. The staff is involved in local activism and news around the Puget Sound. On a recent April 20th visit, they offered a free glass piece and all you can eat medibles in the waiting room! "Everything on the table is medicated but you're free to have as much as you want," is a nice phrase next to the warning, "...be careful." Indeed, I was more interested in the flowers but I did try a hash oil pill. They always use chopsticks to handle their bud, I'm happy to report! Fridge? Yes. Wax? What kind: CO2 extracted air wax, BHO, damaoil, etc.

Definitely a woodsy, piney scent and taste, almost like dirt. The indica power punches me out like a light every time. It's a good stoney feeling for a tolerant smoker like a Kush should be. I got immediate photosensitivity and had to turn out the lights. I asked the budtender for "sleepytime sandman" and he delivered!

SSH is by far my favorite sativa. After medicating, I start grinning uncontrollably, a pleasant sensation. With AuroraCCC's, I get this halo effect - a stage I like to call "Bright Eyes" where the world seems brighter and gay. I have come back to this strain over and over. There's no sleepiness, thank goodness because sometimes I wake up with nasty nausea in the morning. This solves that nicely without the couch-lock. With this strain, I also notice a fair amount of body buzz. After the stone, I'm capable of staying focused on the work at hand and forgetting the time. This one stays stocked in my home.

Finished smoking "Blue Rhino" from AuroraCCC. Immediate body high from the almost amazonian legged leaves clustered uniformly around the cola. Good mind clarity for now, but I noticed the stupids coming on after an hour. Seems aptly named because it charges in and hits your body. The budtender promised that his grower is a master and even talks to his plants. I'm glad I have nothing left to do today because my skin is melting around my frame towards the Earth. The indica settles my stomach easily and the smell is very pungent and indicative of one. I used a recently cleaned bong but I wasn't overwhelmed by the taste at first. However, upon writing this, the aftertaste is quite pleasant and floral. Took about 25 minutes to peak, but I'm quite a tolerant smoker.
