Growing w/ a Tent, Odor Control

I have a large room in my apartment that I'm using as an office. It's way more space than I need, so I'm trying to figure out how I could setup a 1-light grow and still work at my desk in the same room.

My research has led me to the possibility of using a grow tent. It seems that with a grow tent, I can seal of the entire grow inside the tent and I could potentially still use part of the room as an office without the grow taking over the whole room. I've never grown before, so maybe this is foolish?

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these tents? Also is it possible to eliminate any odor coming out of the tent? ... I'm in an apartment building that might not be friendly to the smell and I think maybe the tent could help control this? I could really use feedback on the tent and on controlling the odor. I'd like to grow 6-12 plants with a 600 or 1000 watt light.
